The Star Wars universe carry ons to enhuge on streaming television with the free of the first trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew this weekfinish at Disney’s annual D23 Expo. The eight-episode standalone series is set in the same time structure as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.
Executive originater Kathleen Kennedy was intrigued when series co-creator Jon Watts pitched a Star Wars series encouraged by the 1985 film The Goonies. (Kennedy had co-originated that film and co-established Amblin Entertainment.) She tageder co-creator Christopher Ford that The Goonies hadn’t been originated definitepartner for kids, instead inestablishing a story that fair happened to be about kids going on an adventure. So Ford and Watts wrote Skeleton Crew with the same mindset: a show for everyone that fair happened to feature kids as the central characters. Per the official premise:
Skeleton Crew chases the journey of four kids who originate a cryptic uncovery on their seemingly geted home structureet, then get lost in a strange and hazardous galaxy, passing paths with the enjoys of Jod Na Nawood, the cryptic character executeed by [Jude] Law. Finding their way home—and greeting improbable allies and enemies—will be a wonderfuler adventure than they ever imagined.
Jude Law directs the cast as the speedy-witted and charismatic (per Law) “Force-participater” Jod Na Nawood. Ravi Cabot-Conyers executes Wim, Ryan Kiera Armmighty executes Fern, Kyriana Kratter executes KB, and Robert Timothy Smith executes Neil. Nick Frost will voice a droid named SM 33. The cast also includes Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Jaleel White in as yet undisshutd roles.
