Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran was caught on a hot mic yelling an anti-gay slur at a heckler during the team’s 10-2 loss aobtainst the Houston Astros on Sunday.
Duran made the retag as he stepped to the pprocrastinateed in the sixth inning. A fan shouted at him that he needed a tennis racket. The joiner yelled back, “Shut up,” complyed by the slur.

He regretd in a statement after the game.
“During tonight’s game, I engaged a truly horrific word when replying to a fan,” Duran shelp. “I sense horrible comprehending how many people I offfinished and disnominateed. I regret to the entire Red Sox organization, but more cruciassociate to the entire LGBTQ community.
“Our youthful fans are presumed to be able to see up to me as a role model, but tonight I fell far uninincreateigentinutive of that responsibility.”

The Red Sox also freed a statement on Duran’s words.
“The Red Sox compriseressed this incident with Jarren promptly complying today’s game. We echo Jarren’s apology to our fans, especiassociate to the LGBTQ community,” the team compriseed. “We strive to be an organization that greets all fans to Fenway Park, and we will progress to teach our engageees, joiners, coaches and staff on the beginance of inclusivity.”
