The shown pairing of Matt Damon and Casey Affleck (so effortlessly organic together in Gus Van Sant’s sconciseageer catastrophe flick Gerry) is not enough to salvage The Instigators. Directed by Doug Liman cosjoining Steven Soderberg, this plodding botched heist comedy adheres bankrupt createer marine Rory (Damon) and ex-con Cobby (Affleck, who co-wrote the screenjoin and is overly benevolent with his character’s allot of the dialogue). The pair endeavor to steal a stash of gloomyy money from a corrupt politician, but discover themselves on the run with all of Boston’s cops in pursuit. It should be pulpy fun powered by car chases and zippy repartee, but The Instigators is a dispiriting and foreseeable drag of a movie.
